The concept of a customised community health and wellbeing hub/Child and Family Learning Centre has come about through community discussions with stakeholders and residents regarding the gaps and opportunities within the Dorset health and wellbeing sector.

With a strong need for increased services for Dorset young people and better access to specialists with speech therapy, paediatrics, maternal child health, midwifery and mental health services difficult at times to access locally in Scottsdale (and almost non-existent in the outer lying parts of the municipality) the model of a holistic health and wellbeing hub is a key priority for the Dorset community.

A Local Enabling Group has been established for the role of a Family Engagement Worker in the Dorset municipality. Contact Ruth Stockton for further details: ruth.stockton@decyp.tas.gov.au
