The concept of a customised Child and Family Learning Centre has come about through community discussions with stakeholders and residents regarding the gaps and opportunities within the Dorset health and wellbeing sector.
With a strong need for increased services for Dorset young people and better access to specialists with speech therapy, paediatrics, maternal child health, midwifery and mental health services difficult at times to access locally in Scottsdale (and almost non-existent in the outer lying parts of the municipality) the model of a holistic health and wellbeing hub is a key priority for the Dorset community.
Update: In late 2024 funding was announced for construction of a new Scottsdale CFLC - for more details on the project head to: Department for Education, Children, and Young People (Dorset Child and Family Leaning Centre - Scottsdale)
The Get Involved Campaign for the CFLC began on Monday the 17TH February, 2025 and includes an online Survey and Community Workshop. The more people involved the better!
