Have you ever needed information about what programs and services are in your area? An online database is now available called findhelptas.com.au and it lists services in a variety of categories such as addiction support, crisis and emergency support, resources for children, young people and older Tasmanians, relationship support, health and housing services. It’s designed for everyone to access, and is funded by a collective, initially lead by Anglicare, which includes Baptcare, CatholicCare, Colony47, Hobart City Mission, Mission Australia, Red Cross, Relationships Australia Tasmania, The Salvation Army, TasCOSS and UnitingCare Tasmania. Findhelptas is now managed by TasCOSS. If you have a program or service you’d like included on the directory, you can submit the details on the online form available on the site. If you need to update your data or if you have any queries, feel free to contact Leah Cleary, Project Support Officer, on 6231 0755 or admin@findhelptas.com.au

Bridport U3A

Have you ever wanted to learn new skills with like-minded people in a fun and interactive way? Well the new Bridport University of the 3rd Age (U3A) may be just what you’re looking for… it is a non-for-profit self-directed learning cooperative run solely by volunteers for the benefit of the community. For an annual fee of $45 (to cover insurance) you can get access to all courses offered by Bridport U3A. Aimed at over 50s or those who are retired or semi-retired, course options are limited only by your imagination. You may also have a desire to share your skills in a particular area and offer to teach at the U3A. Registrations are currently being taken in person at the Bridport Pavilion, or by emailing bridportu3a@gmail.com

Business Key Holder Registration

Scottsdale Police are establishing a Business Key Holder Register in the north-east. It is designed as a first point of contact for police outside of normal business hours, should they need to urgently contact the business owner or manager. If you'd like to make sure they have your details, you can download a copy of the form from the Tasmania Police website.
