The Dorset Interim Planning Scheme was gazetted and came into effect on 20 November 2013. The Scheme and the Zone and Overlay Maps can be viewed below:
The Interim Scheme applies to the entire Dorset Council area (which is shown here)
The draft Scheme is comprised of:
- the Ordinance for the administrative/zone provisions and the codes, specific area plans and appendices;
- the Zoning mapbook; and
- the Overlay mapbook

The Minister for Planning has issued Interim Planning Directive No. 4 – Exemptions, Application Requirements, Special Provisions and Zone Provisions in accordance with the recommendations of the Tasmanian Planning Commission. The interim planning directive came into effect on 22 February 2021 and implements a limited range of exemptions, application requirements, general provisions, and zone provisions from the State Planning Provisions (SPPs) into current interim planning schemes. Interim Planning Directive 4 - Fact Sheet
The Minister for Planning issued a Planning Directive 5.1 Bushfire Areas Code which has modified E1.0 - Bushfire-Prone Areas Code on interim planning schemes to reflect the provisions of the revised Bushfire-Prone Areas Code. Modifications to the Interim Scheme
Draft Amendment 1/2018 – Dorset Interim Planning Scheme 2013 – 6 Arnold Place Scottsdale and Hawkes Place Scottsdale Rezoning – 18 July 2018
The Tasmanian Planning Commission has approved the above draft amendment to rezone (i) 6 Arnold Place SCOTTSDALE (Certificate of Title 56108/6) and (ii) Hawkes Place SCOTTSDALE (Certificate of Title 9414/303) - both Council owned - from Open Space Zone to General Residential Zone.
The approved amendment and supporting information is on display at the Council Offices, 3 Ellenor Street, Scottsdale or can be viewed below.
