The Scottsdale Aquatic Centre is set to re-open in late October, and we are seeking casual instructors to support our Learn to Swim program.

If you are passionate about health and wellbeing and providing local opportunities for community members to develop skills and confidence in the water, we'd love to hear from you! In this role, you will enjoy flexible shifts with the potential to increase your hours as our program grows. Whether you already possess industry qualifications or are interested in gaining them, we strongly encourage you to apply.

In the Learn to Swim Instructor role, you will:

  • Plan, organise and facilitate water safety and swimming lessons in a safe, professional and enthusiastic manner in accordance with the Learn to Swim Program provided by the Scottsdale Aquatic Centre;
  • Establish strong rapport with participants and parents and communicate effectively with students, parents and other team members;
  • Accurately record participant progress and maintain any relevant documentation as required;
  • Have input into program schedules in liaison with the Aquatic Centre Manager.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following skills and qualities:

  • A passion for health and wellbeing, and a commitment to providing local opportunities for community members to develop skills and confidence in the water;
  • Outstanding customer service skills, presentation, and attitude;
  • Adaptability and sound judgement to respond to a changing work environment;
  • The ability to maintain an appropriate level of fitness throughout employment;
  • Qualifications as Swim Instructor, or similar industry experience.

If this opportunity excites you but your skills and attributes don’t perfectly align with the requirements of the role, please contact us for a confidential conversation. We are committed to investing in the safety of our community and will provide the necessary training to support your transition in the role.
