Dorset Council has revised its community grants program and announced 3 new grants will now be offered to community groups. From a total pool of $50,000 community groups can apply for one of 3 grants depending on the type of project and the funds required.
The purpose of Councils Small Grants program is to contribute to the community life in Dorset. Community groups and organisations are encouraged to apply for financial assistance towards programs, projects or events that improve the wellbeing of people living in Dorset. Applications for funding of up to $1000 are invited. The next round of Council Small Grants will open in May 2015.
The purpose of Councils Community Matching Funding program is to provide Community groups with Council resources for community-driven projects that enhance and strengthen the Dorset community. All projects are initiated, planned and implemented by community members in partnership with Council. Applications for matched funding of up to $15,000 are invited. The Council Community Matching Grants are currently open, closing on 30 September 2014.
The purpose of the Councillors Discretionary Grants is to provide community groups with funding for projects that are on Council owned land. Applications for funding of up to $15,000 are invited. The next round of Council Community Matching Grants will open in September 2014.
