Local Councils, households, schools and community groups are set to join hundreds of thousands of Australians across the country on Saturday 25 October as part of the rapidly growing national community and sustainability event, Garage Sale Trail.
Dorset Mayor Barry Jarvis, has welcomed the involvement of Council and the unique opportunity Garage Sale Trail provides local residents and organisations in the Dorset region.
Dorset Council is proud to be supporting Garage Sale Trail in 2014. The campaign offers our community the opportunity to think creatively about how we can reuse items that might otherwise be put out for Council collection and possibly end up in landfill,” Mayor Jarvis said.
“I encourage you to think about those in your community who might benefit from your unwanted items, and likewise what treasures might be out there waiting to be found!”
Now in its fourth year, Garage Sale Trail is supported by over 120 councils nationally and is expecting up to 10,000 garage sales across the country with over 1.5 million items for sale.
Garage Sale Trail takes place on Saturday 25 October and all householders, local organisations, schools, community groups and charities can register for free via http://www.garagesaletrail.com.au Registration includes a seller webpage. Be as creative as you like to encourage buyers to attend your sale!
