Bridport Community Playground - Community Survey

As part of strategic planning for Bridport, a new children's playground will be installed that caters for all age groups and is a destination for everyone to enjoy.

Dorset Council has committed $100,000 in the 2016/17 Budget towards Stage 1 of this project, which is focused on providing equipment for older children. The Lions Club of Bridport have committed $20,000, and the project has also been awarded $50,000 through the Tasmanian Community Fund. The Tasmanian Community Fund is an independent Fund that supports and strengthens Tasmanian communities by distributing funds to those communities.

With $170,000 committed to Stage 1 of the project, installation is expected to be completed by the start of March 2017.

An online survey has been designed to determine community priorities regarding the final playground design and location, and will remain open until 30 September 2016. Survey results will be collated, analysed and provided to Councillors at the October Council Workshop. This information will be considered along with other details such as cost, scheduling and other foreshore planning before Stage 1 project design will be decided by Councillors on 17 October 2016.
