The community may have noticed maintenance is being carried out at the Aquatic Centre, namely the replacement of the waterslides. The fibreglass sections of the existing waterslides were found to become compromised over time due to an error in manufacturing.
Once identified, Australian Waterslides & Leisure Pty Ltd (AWL) quickly recognised the problem and took immediate measures to repair and then ultimately replace the fibreglass sections of the waterslides. AWL Managing Director, Annette Matthews stated “AWL’s policy is always to stand by their product and are happy to be involved in the rectification works. We look forward to the opening of the brand-new slides in time for the pool reopening in the coming months.”
Council’s Infrastructure team have worked closely with AWL and acknowledge their proactive approach to replacing the waterslides and ensuring that works were undertaken in time for the reopening of the facility. The replacement is being carried out by AWL, with assistance from Council’s Town Maintenance team.
