Briefing of Decisions made at the Council Meeting held on 26 June at the Council Chambers
- Approved and adopted the 2023/24 Budget Estimates including a capital works program of $10.3 million including $0.8 million for plant and equipment purchases, $4.8 million for new and upgraded assets and $4.7 million for asset renewals. Of the $10.3 million, $4.4 million is financed by external funding.
- Approved and adopted the Rates and Charges for 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 with a 6.9% increase in the general rate base and introduced a varied general rate for short-term accommodation properties within the municipality.
- Acting as the Planning Authority, approved a planning application for use and development of a garage with relaxation of building envelope standards (retrospective) at 17 Barnett Crescent, Bridport, subject to conditions.
- Adopted the Dorset Council Strategic Plan 2023 – 2032.
- Adopted the 2023/24 Annual Plan.
- Approved and adopted the Long Term Financial Plan 2024 – 2033.
- Adopted the 2023/24 Fees and Charges Schedule.
- Adopted revised Policy No. 42 – Rates and Charges, and delegated authority to the General Manager to make a decision in respect of an objection to a variation in a rate in accordance with Section 109 of the Local Government Act 1993.
- Adopted the Bridge Asset Management Plan 2023 – 2033.
- Adopted revised Policy No. 49 – New Business and Investment Assistance.
- Received and noted the Municipal Flood Update – October 2022.
- Tabled a Code of Conduct Determination Report in relation to a complaint made by Mr Lawrence Archer against Councillor Greg Howard.
