Announcements

The Tasmanian Electoral Commission has conducted the recount of votes to fill the vacancies created by the resignation of Anna Coxen, Beth Donoghue and Leonie Stein.

Announcement of Councillor Recount 2

Three recounts were completed on Thursday, 20 February 2025, to fill vacancies on the Dorset Council created by the resignations of Councillor Anna Coxen on 4 February, Councillor Beth Donoghue on 5 February and Councillor Leonie Stein on 6 February 2025.

Nick Bicanic has been elected at the Coxen recount, Vincent Teichmann elected at the Donoghue recount, and James Cashion elected unopposed at the Stein recount, with all three to serve as Councillors until the 2026 ordinary elections. An abstract of the Coxen recount can be viewed here, and the Donoghue recount viewed here (there is no abstract for the Stein recount due to the candidate being elected unopposed).

Council welcomes Nick, Vincent and James onto Council and looks forward to working with them during the remainder of the term.
