Community Grants Spread Far and Wide
The Dorset Council Community Grants program remains as popular as ever, with eight local clubs and organisations sharing more than $20,000 in funding.
Council last night approved Round 1 of funding in the 2025/26 financial year.
The funding went to organisations right across the municipality, across all three funding streams – Small Grants, Discretionary Grants and Matching Grants.
Dorset Council Mayor Rhys Beattie said he was pleased to see the funding round supporting the community.
“The Community Grants Program has been a successful and long-standing fixture in Council supporting our local volunteers” he said.
“Clubs and organisations across the municipality are receiving a helping hand to deliver new projects and events, adding vibrancy and growth within our community”.
A mix of new events, sporting and safety equipment and asset upgrades were in the mix for successful funding.

- $1,775 Scottsdale Lawn Bowls Club - Upgrade and Refurbishment of Equipment
- $1,815 Scottsdale Fire Brigade Social Club - Scottsdale Fire Brigade Wellbeing Project
- $1,914 Bridport Netball Club – Sporting and Fitness Equipment Purchase
Matching Grants
- $4,319 Bridport Innovations Inc – Solar Panels
Discretionary Grants
- $1,310 Bridport Girl Guides – New oven
- $5,420 Lions Club of Scottsdale – New CCTV Cameras at Northeast Park
