Dog Owner Reminders

Dogs are a much-loved part of our community and in summer we love seeing them out and about! But it’s important that dog owners understand their responsibilities, so we are a safe and dog-friendly place.

Dog Owner Reminders

Council encourages all dog owners (and those considering getting a dog) to read our Dog Management Policy (No. 37).

Council Policies

And remember:

🌟 MANNERS MATTER: Make sure your dog is well trained and comfortable in social situations

🐕‍🦺 LOVE THE LEASH: Use a leash to protect your dog, their surroundings and those you meet along the way

🚶‍♂️WALKING WAYS: Walks help with exercise and stimulation so your dog does not get bored (and naughty)

😴 SLEEP TIGHT: Ensure that your dog doesn't roam by day or night and is safe and secure

⛱️ ACCESS AREAS: Remember, check the Policy to find the places you can visit together

🗑️ CLEAN UP: They can’t do it! Please do your duty and clean up after your dog.

🦴 NO NIBBLING: Don’t let your dog chew on things that could be harmful. Bring treats or toys instead.
