Vale I Former General Manager - John Martin

John commenced work with the Ringarooma Council as Council Clerk in 1987. When amalgamations occurred in 1993, John transferred to the new look Dorset Council and took on the role of Corporate Services Manager. John was appointed as General Manager in 2005, a role he remained in until he left Dorset in 2012.

John was respected by Councillors, Council employees and the wider local government sector. His advocacy, leadership and contribution to the north east during his 25 year tenure will never be forgotten.

Everyone at Dorset Council pass on their condolences to John’s wife Deb, children Jason and Jade, and their families at this difficult time.
