2025/26 Round 2 Community Grants Awarded

Announcements

Dorset Council has approved funding for two community projects as part of Round 2 of its 2025/26 Community Grants Program. An additional $14,399 has been awarded across the Small Grants and Matching Grants funding streams, following the success of Round 1 earlier in the financial year.

2025/26 Round 2 Community Grants Awarded

Mayor Rhys Beattie said the grants highlight Council’s commitment to supporting local volunteer groups and improving community facilities.

“Our Community Grants Program is designed to support the people and organisations who contribute so much to Dorset,” Mayor Beattie said.

“These projects might seem modest, but they make a real difference to safety, sustainability and the long-term viability of our local community groups.”

Successful Applicants

Small Grants

  • $699 – Bridport Community Men’s Shed

Funding will support the purchase of a hand pallet truck, improving safety for members when moving heavy items within the shed. The Men’s Shed currently has eight active members and continues to provide an important social and practical space for the community.

Matching Grants

  • $13,700 – Ringarooma Golf Club

Funding will assist with the construction of a new machinery shed, replacing an old and unsafe structure. The new lockable shed will protect essential mowing equipment and support the ongoing maintenance of the course. The project is backed by additional club funds and volunteer labour.

Mayor Beattie congratulated the successful recipients.

“Congratulations to both organisations for their successful applications,” he said.
“Their dedication, volunteer effort and willingness to invest back into their communities are exactly what this program aims to support.”
