August 2026 Preview | Infrastructure Works Underway Across Dorset
Our Infrastructure Team is kicking off a busy season of road, bridge and community facility improvements throughout August.
Roads & Bridges
✅ Annual roadside slashing program begins in late August across Cape Portland, Gladstone and Tomahawk areas.
✅ Road resheeting preparation works commence.
✅ Bridge upgrade works begin on: • Jensens Road (early August) • Haas Road (late August) • Barnbougle Road (over Tuckers Creek) (late August)
Planning Major Projects
📋 Detailed design planning continues for the Golconda Road pavement rehabilitation project and Main Street, Bridport (from Frances Street to first roundabout) pavement rehabilitation project.
Community Facilities
🏊 Scottsdale Aquatic Centre prepares for the summer season with upgrades including new flooring, filters, equipment and pool infrastructure improvements.
🏊 Branxholm Pool sand filter replacement underway.
🏢 Planning continues for the North Scottsdale Hall underground power upgrade.
