DERBY PARK RIVER EROSION WORKS

Commencing Tuesday 13th January 2025 at 7.30am Council will be undertaking river erosion works near the Rotunda at the Derby Park. There will be large trucks coming and going through the park and large machinery working in the park for 2-3 days. Please be mindful of large, moving equipment and machinery through the park during these days. Also be aware that these large trucks will be driving through the town of Derby continuously throughout these erosion works. Please contact the Council Depot on 6352 6510 if you require additional information.

Join the Census Team

Every 5 years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) counts every person and household in Australia through the Census. Information from the Census helps governments, businesses and community groups plan for schools, health care, transport and infrastructure. The next Census is on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Everyone in Australia must be counted. We are hiring more than 30,000 people for the 2026 Census. We can’t do the Census without our temporary field workforce. They help collect the data that helps us all understand more about Australia and how it’s changing.

As part of the recovery response to the extreme weather event that occurred between 30 August and 2 September 2024, the Tasmanian Government has announced that gate fees usually charged to the public for the types waste resulting from that extreme weather event will be waived until 30 November 2024.
