At its meeting on 17 August 2026, Dorset Council resolved to award its new Public Places Waste Collection Services contract to local business, Beaumontcote Pty Ltd. The contract will provide for the ongoing collection and disposal of waste from public litter, sanitary and dog waste bins throughout the Dorset municipality.
Mayor Rhys Beattie said Council was pleased to continue working with a contractor that has a long-standing history of servicing the municipality and contributing to the local community.
"Council is delighted to award this contract to a local business that has demonstrated a strong commitment to Dorset over many years," Mayor Beattie said.
"As a locally based contractor, Beaumontcote understands our communities, our towns and the importance of maintaining clean, safe and welcoming public spaces for residents and visitors alike."
Council's assessment found that Beaumontcote Pty Ltd has the capacity, experience and management systems required to successfully deliver the service, building on a proven track record of providing waste collection services to Council for more than 12 years.
Mayor Beattie said the award also recognised the contractor's broader contribution to the Dorset community.
"Beyond the services they provide to Council, Beaumontcote has consistently shown a willingness to support local community events and initiatives, including providing assistance at no charge on a number of occasions. That community-minded approach is something we greatly value."

The new five-year contract will ensure the continued collection of public waste across the municipality, helping maintain the amenity and cleanliness of Dorset's townships, recreation areas and public spaces.
