Briefing of Decisions | 16 February 2026 Council Meeting
  • Formalised the General Manager’s 2025 annual performance and remuneration package review, in the Closed Session portion of the Meeting.
  • Acting as a Planning Authority, approved a planning application for demolition / construction of a new dwelling at 91 Bentley Street, Bridport, subject to conditions.
  • Received and noted the quarterly financial report for the period ended 31 December 2025.
  • Approved, by absolute majority, a variation to the 2025/26 Budget Estimates to include $310,400 in external funding received for the upgrade of Bridge 1572 – Haas Road, partial reallocation of the 2025/26 Capital Works Budget for the upgrade of Bridge 1572 to enable the urgent upgrade of Bridge 1541 – West Maurice Road – to be brought forward and exempt the procurement of a contractor from Council’s standard quotation process under its Code for Tenders and Contract Policy due to extenuating circumstances.
  • Adopted revised Policies No. 17 – Council Credit Cards, and No. 52 – Related Party Disclosure.
  • Endorsed a Council submission on the 20-Year Preventive Health Strategy to be submitted to the Minister for Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing.
  • Deferred the adoption of new Policy No. 70 - Local Government Election Caretaker Period for further discussion at the March Briefing Workshop.
  • Resolved to not progress additional pedestrian crossing treatments on King Street and / or George Street, Scottsdale at this time, acquit and return any unspent grant funds that cannot be delivered within program conditions / timeframes, and commit to review further if data changes including speed or major land use.
  • Received and noted the Management Briefing Report which included the Northern Tasmania Development Corporation Quarterly Report for period 1 October to 31 December 2025.
