Recycling and Waste Reduction

Dorset Council Recyclopaedia

If you are unsure about what can be put into your kerbside collection bins and what needs to go to a Waste Transfer Station check out our handy A-Z guide - Dorset Council Recyclopaedia - A-Z Guide to Recycling and Waste

FREE Recycling is available at the Waste Transfer Stations for the following materials:

  • E-Waste (TV's, Computers, Printers and their parts and accessories)
  • Polystyrene
  • Car / Truck Batteries
  • Household Batteries
  • Steel
  • Motor Vehicle Bodies

Food Waste and Garden Organics should be composted or, alternatively, can be given a second chance through ShareWaste

Hard to recycle materials, such as coffee pods, straws, toothpaste tubes and pens can all be recycled through TerraCycle

Rethink Waste is a statewide initiative which provides resources, funding and information to improve our collective efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle - you can find out more here!
