Graduate Accountant (Scottsdale)

Are you a recent accounting graduate ready to start your career in a supportive and forward-thinking local government organisation?

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career while contributing to meaningful work that supports our community. This full time role offers:

  • Base salary of $79,916.72 p.a. + super
  • Work on a 9 day fortnight or 19 day month RDO structure
  • Work from home flexibility

In this position, you will support Council’s financial operations, including payroll, financial reporting, asset management, budgeting, and annual and long-term financial planning. Supported by experienced accountants, you will gain practical experience across a broad range of local government finance functions.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or be nearing completion);
  • Have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements;
  • Have high-level computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet and database applications (Excel and Access);
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills;
  • Be proactive in seeking opportunities to learn and develop professionally;
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Be collaborative and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
