Join Council in thanking all of Dorset's wonderful volunteers. No RSVP necessary, just come along and enjoy morning tea as a thank you from us.
The Dorset community will come together later this month to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution of local volunteers, with a free community morning tea to be held on Friday, 22 May 2026 at the Scottsdale Library.
Hosted as part of National Volunteer Week 2026, the event will bring volunteers, community groups, and residents together in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Mayor Rhys Beattie along with Councillors will attend to thank volunteers for the time, energy, and compassion they dedicate to the Dorset municipality.
Mayor Beattie said National Volunteer Week is an important opportunity to acknowledge the people who quietly support the municipality every day.
“Volunteers are at the heart of Dorset. They support our clubs, our events, our services, and our sense of community. This morning tea is a small gesture of appreciation for the enormous contribution they make,” Mayor Beattie said.
The morning tea is open to all volunteers across Dorset, as well as community members who wish to show their support.
