Briefing of Decisions made at the Council Meeting held on 17 August at the Council Chambers 

  • Received and noted an update on the development of the Derby Masterplan 2026.

  • Endorsed the proposed modified scope of works for the Dorset Netball Facilities Upgrade project which includes the construction of a third court at Scottsdale, resurfacing of two existing courts at Scottsdale and court one at Bridport, and repairs to court edges at Derby.

  • Endorsed a revised approach to community-led projects, including a temporary pause on new permit and letter of support applications, establishing an interim intake period (February to March) for community led capital project proposals which will be assessed and prioritised through Council’s annual planning and budget process, and the development of clear community guidelines and engagement / education with community groups.

  • Council, acting at the Planning Authority and pursuant to Section 6 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993, delegated to the Manager – Community & Development Services specific powers and functions, subject to conditions and restrictions.

  • Rescinded Policy No. 53 – Emergency Relief Grant with Council Officers to consider including provisions within the current Policy No. 47 – Community Grants, at the time of its next review.

  • Received and noted the Executive Leadership Team Briefing Report which included community updates on the Ringarooma Road Scheme Amendment, the status of the Scottsdale Aquatic Centre Indoor Pool Feasibility Study and Scottsdale Masterplan request for quotes, Round 1 of the 2026/27 Community Grants funding stream, and the upcoming Caretaker Period.

  • Awarded Contract 2025/26-09: Netball Facilities Upgrade to the preferred tenderer as recommended by the Tender Assessment Committee, in the Closed Session portion of the Meeting.

  • Awarded Contract 2026/27-02: 2026/27 Bituminous Sealing of Roads Program to the preferred tenderer as recommended by the Tender Assessment Committee, in the Closed Session portion of the Meeting.

  • Awarded Contract 2026/27-05: Public Places Waste Collection Services to the preferred tenderer as recommended by the Tender Assessment Committee, in the Closed Session portion of the Meeting.
