Dorset Digital Survey | NOW OPEN

Public Notices

Dorset Council is working with nbn, Telstra, Northern Tasmania Development Corporation, and community and business stakeholders throughout Dorset to develop a Community Digital Plan.

Dorset Digital Survey | NOW OPEN

Today Council is launching a Community Survey that aims to capture residents’ concerns and issues regarding connectivity. The feedback received via the survey will help inform the development of actions and recommendations.

Commissioner Wardlaw highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, "Enhancing digital access and literacy is essential for the growth and well-being of our community. By directly engaging with residents, we can gain a clearer understanding of their needs and collaborate with our partners to improve digital infrastructure and skills. This survey is a crucial step in identifying the specific needs of the Dorset community and implementing measures to ensure everyone in Dorset can benefit from the digital economy."

General Manager of Dorset Council John Marik said “the plan is a pilot project and the first of its kind in the State, which will create a possible road map and methodology that could be utilised in other local government areas. Modern high speed digital infrastructure is an absolute necessity for the region to improve liveability for local residents, aid in economic development for existing and new commercial operators and to improve customer experience for the vibrant tourism industry.”

Residents can access the survey online here or paper versions of the survey are available to collect at Council’s offices.
