This week, Australia celebrates its largest annual recognition of volunteers. It is an opportunity to highlight the important role of volunteers within the Dorset community.
Dorset Commissioner Andrew Wardlaw has seen firsthand the diversity and passion of volunteers during his time in Dorset.
“National Volunteer Week is a chance for all of us to celebrate and recognise the work of volunteers and to say thank you. Travelling around Dorset I have met with many motivated and enthusiastic volunteers, and their passion for their communities should be commended.”
Council thanks all volunteers within Dorset, including those that greet tourists at our visitor information centres, and our local emergency services. Whether it's for a community organisation or sporting club, volunteers bring people together, build communities and creates a great environment for everyone to live and thrive in.
So, if you see someone volunteering this week, show them your appreciation and thank them for their time and effort in making Dorset a great place to live.
