Town Maintenance Labourer

Dorset Council is seeking a practical, reliable and motivated individual to join our Town Maintenance team.

About the role

This is a hands on role predominantly based in the Derby area that helps keep our towns, parks, cemeteries, recreational spaces and community assets well presented.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will undertake a variety of maintenance activities including parks and gardens maintenance, general town upkeep, minor construction works, operation of plant and equipment, and maintenance of Council assets.

Our ideal candidate will:

- Be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

- Take pride in maintaining public spaces and delivering quality work

- Have a strong commitment to workplace health and safety

- Be adaptable, reliable and willing to undertake a diverse range of maintenance activities

- Hold a current drivers licence and relevant industry licences and accreditations, or have the ability to obtain them

- Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:

- Parks, gardens, reserves or open space maintenance

- Landscaping, construction or civil maintenance

- Operation of mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, tractors, trucks, backhoes or similar plant and equipment

- Annual base salary of $71,893 plus 12% superannuation
